About TeCo Theatrical Productions

Founded 15 years ago by executive artistic director, Teresa Coleman Wash, TeCo Theatrical Productions is a non-profit organization committed to building dreams, inspiring audiences, and creating dramatic opportunities. For nearly two decades, TeCo has offered a full season of performances for adults, transformed hundreds of students via arts education programs and created many opportunities for local artists. Since 1993, the theatre company has impacted more than 5,000 individuals annually through seasonal performances and student outreach programs. The organization is constantly growing and has expanded its reach into the heart of the historical Bishop Arts District. In June 2004, TeCo acquired a 10,000 sq. foot dilapidated building in Oak Cliff and renovated it into a 170 seat state-of-the-art proscenium theater with dressing rooms, executive offices, a gallery space, learning laboratory for arts education programs and arts business incubator center for emerging arts organizations to rent affordable office space. TeCo’s 2008-2009 season offers a full complement of artistic excellence. The season opens with “Leonard’s Car”, an award winning play by local playwright Isabella Russell-Ides and continues with performances by Booker T. Washington alumni, classical productions and opportunities where local playwrights can showcase their work.
