Head's up to nearby scam

An elderly resident of Kessler had a new roof replaced about six months ago. Someone paying attention to this previous work showed up on his porch today to do a "follow-up," and the maid allowed entry into the house. They guy went straight to the bedroom, where the elderly person was in bed, and tried to remove a ring from his finger, then went to the dresser to the jewelry box. The man had been sleeping and woke up enough to grab his cane and the man ran from the house. I notice lots of repair and remodeling along Winnetka Ave, so maybe other streets are seeing some work, too. You might want to alert elderly neighbors without the internet so they're not victims.
