October Wine Tasting
The fun continues, Barbara and Pierre are hosting our upcoming tasting at their lovely home 102 S. Willomet Ave. starting at 7pm on October 20th. This is a regular wine tasting with each couple or single, all are welcome, bringing a bottle of wine and a complementary food. Finger food is preferred no fuss no muss. This is not a snooty wine event, just grab a bottle of your favorite vino, or something you find on sale, it doesn't matter. For food you can find an interesting recipe you want to experiment with or just grab take out at a local establishment or put together a lovely plate of cheese, fruit and crackers. My mom always said that if you serve it on a lovely platter then who cares if you made it yourself.
We ask that you consider supporting neighborhood businesses like North Oak Cliff Beer and Wine on Davis as you plan your food and wine for the evening. Remember that If we want quality products we need to support the businesses who are attempting to bring them to us.
So we will meet and greet from 7-7:30 and sign in before we begin the tasting. The order is aperitifs, whites, reds and then dessert wines. Sparkling served with a savory is an aperitif and dessert with a sweet. If you match chocolate with your red wine let me know so we can place you at the end of the evening.
Please rsvp here with your wine varietal so others can get an idea of what will be served so we can have some diversity in our tasting choices.
This is a great warm up for Halloween, since we will all need a bit of the grape to face those adorable hordes later in the month, and what better way to find out the newest hot spots around the hood that we should be being seen at.
Hope to see many of you there. The evening is limited to 24 participants so rsvp early to ensure your spot.

Re: October Wine Tasting
Daylon and Lee are coming, always good to have a wino virgin in the mix. Welcome.
Sandi Adams is a yes and I believe Candace and Steve will be attending too. Kathi Kibbel is talking a night off from bartending to join us, always a special treat.
Looking forward to having the group over and we have a few slots open so if you are walking by the southeast corner of Willomet and Tenth, carrying a bottle of wine and a tasty snack please feel free to stop by.

Re: October Wine Tasting
Another wonderful neighborhood evening in the Heights, we want to welcome Daylon and Lee to the neighborhood and to the winos, we enjoyed meeting you both. From the champagne to the prosecco, with the riesling, meritage, merlot, pinot noir and cabernets in between the wine was as always quite good, and the food from the home made turkey street tacos, the gorgonzola quiche, apple salsa, the braut sliders, stuffed peppers, goat cheese, stuffed mushrooms, pizza and cheesecake - all quite tasty. We had a lovely fall evening sitting on the porch for good conversation and neighborly fun, thanks to all who joined us and we look forward to seeing many of you at our next tasting. Winnetka Heights Winos, six years and going strong.
